About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Mine Operations of Training and Development, the Training Coordinator, is responsible for the training, development, and evaluation of employees. This role will operate on a 4x4 schedule rotation consisting of day and night shifts.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal, communication and team management skills, who has a passion for contributing to other people’s personal and professional growth. We require a self-motivated individual who can deliver engaging training programs in a professional manner. Lastly, this role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt and prioritize contending demands in a fast-paced environment.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Lead and empower employees in achieving operating targets and improve employee workforce performance and efficiency through mentorship, feedback and achieving safe operating targets.
- Manage a team and optimize Operations Training to improve production and meet targets in the Mine Plan.
- Conduct operator reviews to continually improve knowledge and skill set to ensure safe and productive performance.
- Administer the collective agreement, safety, and mine environmental regulations (Health and Safety Reclamation Code) in a manner consistent with policies and procedures.
- Schedule and deliver comprehensive training based on site requirements including a variety of hands-on, computer based, classroom, and field work.
- Develop and modify Standard Practices and Procedures in accordance with site standards and practices
- Analyze training practices and data to provide continuous improvement in safety and efficiency
- Complete ongoing training to maintain and update knowledge pertaining to regulations
- Participate in Human Resources and Safety investigations
Requirements:
- Minimum two years’ experience in training or mentoring others
- Experience in open pit mining combined with a broad scope of experience on mining equipment.
- Strong digital literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite®
- Ability to multi-task and maintain accurate recording of training activities.
- Familiarity with the Company’s Training History program would be considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
