About the role:
Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, Senior Engineer, Electrical, will support the reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical systems across our mobile mining fleet. This role is responsible for providing engineering support for electric shovels, drills, substations, trailing cable systems, pit power distribution, and associated electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance, operations, projects, and technical teams to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational performance.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a safety-focused and collaborative engineer with a passion for improving the reliability and performance of electrical systems. Someone who applies sound engineering judgment to solve complex technical challenges while balancing operational priorities, asset reliability, and long-term maintenance strategies. A person who builds strong working relationships with operations, maintenance, project teams, and contractors, and communicate technical information effectively to a variety of stakeholders. Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement, taking ownership of initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, and operational performance. With strong organizational and problem-solving skills, you can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced mining environment while consistently delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Provide engineering support for the maintenance and reliability of mobile mining electrical systems
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, regulations, and company standards
- Support electrical troubleshooting on high-voltage and low-voltage systems
- Manage electrical asset health and develop long-term replacement strategies
- Lead reliability improvement initiatives to increase equipment availability
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and protection coordination studies
- Investigate equipment failures using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Minimum of three-year work experience in an Electrical Engineering Role
- Previous work experience in heavy industry
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office® Suite and AutoCAD
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
