About the role:
Reporting to the Superintendent, Mine Operations, the Senior Supervisor, Mine Operations is responsible to supervise, and direct work related to drill and blast functions, pit dewatering, ground engaging tools and short-range power while working to support the long-term goals of the operation.
To be successful, we require someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to productively direct a team and build strong employee relations. You will be detail-oriented, adaptable, energetic, and have an excellent attitude towards safety. Most importantly, the demonstrated ability to hold oneself accountable and lead and work under pressure will be vital.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Oversee all drill and blasting functions, pit dewatering, ground engaging tools and short-range pit power
- Measure the operating crew’s performance in achieving operating targets and strengthen employee performance and accountability through coaching and feedback
- Provide input to Mine Operations General Supervisor and cross-functional teams regarding priority, requirements, risks, and operations impacts and projects
- Oversee contractors including explosive suppliers
- Communicate with other crew supervision, engineers, maintenance, processing, and human resources to coordinating mining activities in an efficient manner
- Lead, mentor and empower mine operations supervisors in achieving operating targets and improve employee work performance and efficiency
- Source innovative ways to minimize cost and improve production while supporting the commitment to safety
Requirements:
- Possess a valid Shift Boss Certificate, related technical diploma, or engineering degree
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience
- Solid understanding of Mine’s Act
- Experience with Contract Management for seasonal special projects
- Experience in blasting and valid Blasters Ticket is an asset
- Exposure to DABS System is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
