About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, Processing, the Senior Engineer, Processing is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and effectively implementing process improvement initiatives which improve production efficiency.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who can interact seamlessly with internal group and site teams, with a keen interest in developing leadership, and mentoring others. You must have sound judgement and be able to form practical solutions through collaboration and engineering analysis. This person would have the ability to own this position by taking initiative and staying accountable for delivering strong outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Experience with change management as well as proven abilities completing projects are vital.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Conduct a daily routine Plant walkthrough, critical process check
- KPI tracking, review plant operating data and provide guidance to operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel
- Drive urgency on production projects, deliver on medium/large scale production-based initiatives
- Lead the prioritization of Rate and Yield associated issues identified through the production loss allocation (PLA) process
- Propose and recommend production targeting for rate and yield and develop corrective actions or projects to eliminate constraints
- Provide guidance for improving process control and digital transformation.
- Provide technical consultation with other site departments with respect to risk mitigation and value

Requirements:
- Degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum seven years of experience in a similar industry
- Registered, or eligible for registration, with Engineers and Geoscientist of British Columbia (EGBC)
- Previous work experience in heavy industry
- Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals such as mass balances, fluid mechanics, and equipment sizing/selection
- Registered as a qualified professional (e.g. P.Eng., P.L.Eng)
- Experience with project management with a successful track record of delivering strong project outcomes
- Experience with change management and innovation
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
