About the role: 
Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance Planning, the Planner, Maintenance (Shutdowns) plays a key role in coordinating and executing shutdowns (turnarounds/outages) at our Processing Plant. This position ensures all planned maintenance activities are scheduled, resourced, and executed safely and efficiently during shutdown events.
The successful candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and experience working in industrial or plant environments. This role involves collaborating with multiple teams, including maintenance planners, operations, reliability and process engineers, and contractors, to develop detailed work packages and manage the full lifecycle of shutdown planning.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
 - Manage the STO (Shutdown/turnaround/outage) maintenance backlog for accuracy, while considering requirements related to parts, labor, permits, drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment, tooling, and instructions
 - Work with key stakeholders including maintenance planners, skilled trades, reliability and process engineers and contractors to prioritize, prepare and coordinate plant shutdown work packages
 - Ensure that all aspects of shutdown preparation are completed and handed over to supervision and execution teams
 - Plan maintenance work for mechanical trades for a dedicated area of the Processing Plant
 - Maintain an accurate forecast that adheres to established maintenance strategies, while supporting best-in-class asset management strategies
 - Assist with monthly cost forecasting, annual budgeting, and cost analysis
 - Work regularly with maintainers to build or improve detailed work packages
 - Track and report Key Performance Indicators, bringing forward continuous improvement opportunities
 - Commission and decommission equipment, and manage their maintenance programs
 - Communicate maintenance plans with key stakeholders across various departments
 
Requirements:
- Journeyperson’s ticket, Degree, or Diploma in a related subject area, or a combination of relevant education and experience in mining or heavy industry
 - Experience planning or coordinating shutdowns/turnarounds/outages in a plant or heavy industrial setting preferred
 - Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
 - Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
 - Strong understanding of maintenance planning processes and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is an asset
