About the role:
Reporting to the Director, Aquatic Health & Sciences, the Senior Lead, Environmental Data Management leads a cross-disciplinary team of data management specialists to ensure EVR has the critical data tools, business processes, and applications required to meet compliance, regulatory reporting, and sustainability requirements.
To be successful, we are looking for someone who can manage competing priorities, provide technical direction, support and mentor a team, and communicate effectively with the business units supported by the data management team and with senior management.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies, ensuring safety remains a top priority in all tasks and work responsibilities
- Lead a cross-disciplinary team of data management specialists and serve as a key communication link between the team, supported business units, and senior management
- Apply data governance and management standards across project intake, data collection, quality assurance, documentation, database design, application design and development, change management, and project management
- Contribute to annual strategic planning and support priorities across the business in alignment with Glencore and EVR requirements
- Provide leadership and mentorship through work planning and prioritization, career development, performance management, and fostering a positive team environment where individuals can thrive
- Lead annual budget planning and monthly financial tracking
Requirements:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of data management experience in environment-related GIS, including project management, database design, application design, and application development
- Supervisory experience is beneficial, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team management and interfacing with supported business units.
- Understanding of GIS concepts, spatial analysis, GIS and related software integration, and spatial modeling.
- Training and/or experience in areas of IT beyond GIS, such as system administration, web server administration, or database administration.
- Understanding of Environmental Management System implementation and support requirements beyond GIS (e.g., familiarity with environmental data management and decision support systems like EQuIS)
