About the role:
Reporting to Senior Engineer, Maintenance, the Mechanical Engineer / EIT is responsible providing engineering and reliability support for mobile equipment.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, who has strong learning agility, and analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, cross-functional team player who brings a collaborative approach to finding solutions. Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills, and the ability to work flexibly in a constantly evolving, dynamic environment are crucial to this role.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs, policies, and best practices
- Apply engineering principles to safeguard life, health, property, economic interests, public welfare, and the environment
- Work in accordance with applicable government regulations and EVR standards
- Manage specific projects within the maintenance department, including equipment rebuilds and assembly, considering material requirements, timing, economic justification, and budget constraints
- Collaborate with planners, trades, and supervisors to continually improve maintenance processes and equipment performance
- Support the development and implementation of maintenance strategies using engineering methodologies such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Provide training and support to tradespeople and operators involved in various reliability and maintenance processes
- Analyze and report on equipment failures and data driving "bad actor" projects to enhance equipment performance
- Support the development, reporting, and analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Experience with mobile equipment mechanical and electrical systems
- Eligibility for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (EGBC)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite® and SolidWorks® 3D modeling software
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
