About the role:  
 
Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance (Water Operations), the Planner, Maintenance is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities in Water Quality Maintenance (WQM) operations to meet the Plant Availability, Reliability, and Integrity objectives in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner; thereby facilitating continuous realization of Company Annual Business Plans.

This person is adaptable and can take on unique challenges while travelling to and collaborating with different sites. The ability to find solutions, multitask, and prioritize contending demands in a fast-paced environment is vital.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies  
  • Plan maintenance activities for water operation facilities, including process equipment, pumps, structures, facilities, HDPE and PVC Pipelines, and utilities while handling Request for Proposals, contractor and vendor quotes, and purchase order requests 
  • Handle work order backlogs for accuracy and advance the work through the planning process 
  • Scope pre-job requirements, including parts, labor resources, Environment Health Safety and Community work plans, permits, drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment, and tooling 
  • Track contractors and trade workers completing on site work 
  • Assist with equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance checks, maintain a maintenance forecast, focusing on key equipment and major work events, and commission and decommission equipment and their maintenance programs 
  • Develop and monitor cost accrual, forecasting of maintenance annual budgeting 
  • Create detailed work packages, especially for routine work, to further build those captured packages into our system 
  • Setup new facilities and equipment into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and manage stock levels for onsite parts 
  • Implement maintenance strategies within the CMMS as outlined by the engineering group, including preventative maintenance and condition monitoring 
  • Support sustaining capital and major projects upon request including masters, equipment tags, and Bill of Material (BOM) creation as well as Preventative Maintenance (PM) for newly commissioned equipment 
  • Develop weekly KPI’s as per approved metrics by EVR business improvement for the WQM site maintenance activities 
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules while adapting for unplanned, break-in and opportune work on a resource loaded 2-week look ahead schedule 
  • Facilitate priorities and progress maintenance workflow activities 
  • Perform other activities as assigned by General Supervisor or his designate 

Requirements:

  • Journeyperson’s ticket, or Degree or Diploma in a related engineering or technical subject area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in maintenance  
  • Strong digital literacy and experience with CMMS and the Microsoft Office 
  • 5-7 years post-graduation experience 3 of which should have been spent in facility maintenance planning, or scheduling or supervision in a heavy-duty industrial environment, Mining or Process Plant 
  • CMRP or MMP certification will be an added advantage 
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent 
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
