About the role: 

Reporting to the Senior Lead, Maintenance Training, the Lead, Maintenance Training will be responsible for leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of technical training across our maintenance operations.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about learning, enjoys engaging with people, and can help individuals from diverse backgrounds translate learning into real-world applications.

This role is critical to building workforce capability by developing high-quality training programs that support safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance practices. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a passion for coaching and mentoring, helping to develop apprentices and journeypersons while advancing EVR’s commitment to operational excellence and safety leadership.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies 
  • Design and develop standardized technical training programs across maintenance disciplines, aligned with EVR operational requirements
  • Create high-quality learning materials that support both hands-on technical training and theoretical knowledge development
  • Supervise a team of training specialists at the CMm training campus
  • Develop and deliver structured training using specialized systems, including:
    • CDI Electrical Training & Troubleshooting Boards
    • CDI Hydraulic Training & Troubleshooting Boards
    • CMM Lubrication Training & Troubleshooting Systems
  • Build and maintain engine training programs, including:
    • Diesel engine fundamentals and advanced diagnostics
    • Electronic engine controls and monitoring systems
    • Engine troubleshooting, failure analysis, and reliability best practices
  • Continuously improve training content to reflect evolving equipment, technologies, and EVR best practices
  • Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on technical training that strengthens troubleshooting skills, builds knowledge of heavy equipment systems, and supports apprentices and journeypersons in achieving Red Seal certification readiness within a safe, respectful, and performance-driven learning environment
  • Develop, implement, and maintain technical training programs across EVR maintenance operations, including evaluating program effectiveness, coordinating OEM/vendor training, partnering with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize training needs, and acting as a regional technical training resource
  • Ensure all training programs and delivery methods align with EVR Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards by supporting onboarding, compliance training, and the consistent promotion of a strong safety culture.
  • Maintain advanced technical expertise in electrical, hydraulic, lubrication, and diesel engine systems, while incorporating real-world troubleshooting scenarios and applying knowledge of SkilledTradesBC apprenticeship and Red Seal requirements to support workforce development

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Mining Environment  
  • Red Seal Certified Heavy Duty Technician
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent 
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
