About the role:
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Senior Supervisor, Mine Operations is responsible for working closely with Mine Engineering, Maintenance, Processing, and the other Mine Operations Supervisors to ensure the mine plan is developed effectively and executed safely and productively in an autonomous haulage environment.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities who will collaborate with and establish strong relationships across multi-disciplinary teams. This role requires versatility and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced environment undergoing transformational change specifically with autonomous haulage. Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills including the ability to empower, coach, and mentor others are vital.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Working with short range engineering to optimize the mine plan while meeting the requirements of the 18-week plan
- Ensure pit power is planned and coordinated with mine maintenance and mine ops is lined up to execute effectively
- Ensure pit dewatering is planned and executed effectively
- Ensure support equipment use is effectively planned to meet short term mining goals productively
- Ensure shovel headings are set up to support productive double side loading
- Ensure dumps are set up to support productive dumping sequences, while managing effective flat haul to meet the objectives of the plan
- Ensure drill patterns are set up productively, and pattern prep is done in advance
- Provide mentorship to Mine Operations Supervisors on good mining standards
- Provide mentorship to planning engineers on productive mining practices
- Create daily note packages to support continued execution of the mine plan across all shifts
- Accountable to the General Supervisor, Mine Operations for delivering a safe, productive mine plan
- Look for innovative ways to minimize cost and maximize production without impacting the commitment to safety
- Support leadership development of the operation supervision staff
- Perform other responsibilities as required and assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum eight years of mining experience, with five years of supervisory experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to mentor and motivate both junior and senior employees
- Strong personal standards with respect to mining standards and the ability ensure those standards are executed in the field.
- Ability to understand and work with mine planning maps
- Strong digital literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite® and solid understanding of mine dispatch systems. Experience in autonomous haulage systems would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to hold oneself accountable, and lead and work in a fast-paced environment
- Driven and motivated toward continuous improvement.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
