Copper Refineries are currently seeking suitably qualified applicants for the role of a Product Control Officer to join the CRL Technical Team. This is a residential, Monday to Friday 40 hour roster, offering the balance of challenging, meaningful work and the opportunity to return home every day. You will work closely with frontline teams and leaders to embed safe work practices, drive improvements and influence positive safety culture outcomes.

About the role

 

We are looking for a motivated person to join us in the role of Product Control Officer within the Metallurgical team. Reporting to the Superintendent Metallurgical Process, this position will require you to work in a small team managing the production reporting, quality control and preparation for dispatch of copper cathode from the Copper Refinery.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the production database including the loading and amendment of customer orders
  • Planning and coordinating the transport of copper cathode with our transport partner
  • Weekly and monthly stock count and reporting
  • Daily copper cathode production reporting
  • Weighing and strapping of copper cathode bundles
  • Quality control and quality assurance of copper cathode prior to transport
  • Liaison with multiple teams including commercial, production, maintenance, and laboratory

 

Experienced Required

 

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of two years’ experience working within a logistics, stock management, or planning environment, with a demonstrated ability to manage inventory systems and support operational requirements. They will have experience working with data, particularly within Microsoft Excel, and be comfortable identifying and resolving discrepancies. A strong attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with stakeholders to solve problems. The role requires someone who can adapt to changing customer and operational demands, take ownership within a small team, and maintain a proactive approach to safety while being physically capable of working outdoors for a significant portion of the day.

 

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics, stock management, or planning
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data management and error resolution
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven problem-solving capability in operational environments
  • Ability to adapt to changing customer and business needs
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Proactive commitment to safety and safe work practices
  • Physically capable of working outdoors for up to 60% of the workday
  • Current forklift competency (advantageous)
