About the role:

Reporting to the Superintendent or Senior Lead Maintenance, the Lead, Maintenance Systems is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities across major mining and processing assets and supporting the full maintenance lifecycle within SAP S4/HANA. This role works collaboratively with maintenance trades, planners, supervisors, and operations to ensure accurate work requests, effective resource coordination, and high-quality maintenance records.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong communication skills, solid technical understanding of mining equipment and operations, proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (such as SAP), exceptional organizational ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to perform effectively in fast paced environments while managing competing priorities. Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution is essential.

In this role you will:

•    Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies 
•    Administer and coordinate large volume of maintenance work requests and work orders within S4/HANA
•    Submit Maintenance Requests on behalf of Contractors
•    Screen New Maintenance Requests daily
•    Prioritize requests (Emergency, Minor, Standard) and ensure traceability and control
•    Ensure Maintenance Requests include accurate functional locations or equipment number, detailed work scope descriptions, required labour estimates and materials
•    Lead daily work control meetings with Supervisors, Planners, and Operations
•    Act as the main point of communication between Maintenance Supervisors, Trades, Operations and Reliability/Planning teams
•    Verifying that permits, isolations, and all required safety requirements are identified and communicated to Supervisors
•    Ensuring the correct parts, materials, and tools are sourced and delivered to support timely repairs
•    Approve materials within defined permissions and support cost control
•    Coordinating the assignment of the appropriate tradespeople and contractors
•    Securing mobile equipment or plant downtime windows needed to complete the work
•    Assessing the production impact of equipment downtime and prioritizing work accordingly
•    Facilitating collaboration across multiple operational areas to enable smooth execution
•    Providing guidance and support to ensure reactive maintenance activities are completed safely, effectively, and on schedule
•    Working with Trades, Operations, and Contractors to confirm complete job scopes, resource requirements, and parts needs
•    Ensuring safety requirements, tools, and procedures are incorporated into work plans
•    Collaborating with Planners and Schedulers to prioritize work and align activities with equipment availability and production needs
•    Coordinating with the Materials Coordinator to secure tools, and materials, and ensuring they are properly staged before execution
•    Monitoring equipment availability and assisting with warranty and returns processes
•    Reviewing daily and weekly schedules with Supervisors and Schedulers 
•    Conducting final work order reviews to verify proper completion, including labour hours, parts usage, failure coding, and ensuring accurate trade notes are captured
•    Supporting reporting on equipment reliability and maintenance performance 
•    Reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) associated with equipment in SAP
•    Escalating delays or issues affection major maintenance events, production or other priorities when needed
•    Supporting preparation, planning and execution of major maintenance events, such as shutdowns

Requirements:

•    Journeyperson’s ticket, or Engineering Degree in a related subject area (Mechanical, Mining, Processing), or a combination of relevant education and experience in mining or heavy industry
•    7 years of experience in planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance work
•    Well versed in the use of systems and technology 
•    Strong understanding and skills in computerized maintenance management systems 
•    Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
