About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Senior Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting and leading the delivery of the Asset Management Framework for mobile equipment in an autonomous open pit mine. The Senior Maintenance Engineer will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for driving mobile maintenance strategy, regulatory requirements, Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) practices, and reliability program execution to improve asset availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and optimise total cost of ownership.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Own the execution of the reliability program: failure mode identification, RCA (root cause analysis), countermeasure development, trials and verification
- Lead continuous improvement projects, including business case development and ROI tracking
- Lead, coach, and develop Engineers and Engineers-in-Training through career progression and governance requirements
- Advance Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) applications, data interpretation, and interventions
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned to the Asset Management Framework and site objectives
- Ensure regulatory and OEM compliance for maintenance practices and inspection regimes; manage statutory inspections and maintenance records.
- Define and track asset performance metrics and report trends with clear improvement actions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and lifecycle planning for mobile assets and maintenance spend
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; P.Eng required
- Eligible for, or working towards, registration with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
- Minimum 7+ years’ work experience in mining or heavy industry; previous open pit mining with truck-shovel operation desirable
- Proven experience with mobile equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Preference to candidates with supervisory and mentorship experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
