About the role:
 
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role supports cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and external stakeholders, and provides leadership to ensure electrical work is executed safely and by qualified personnel. The role is accountable for managing electrical risk, ensuring compliance with the Electrical Engineering Control Plan, and driving reliability and performance of electrical systems across the site.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Develop and maintain electrical standards, procedures, and safe work practices aligned with regulatory and EVR requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the Electrical Engineering Control Plan and Health and Safety Management System
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
  • Ensure all electrical work is performed by qualified and competent personnel
  • Monitor system performance through inspections, audits, and reliability data analysis
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on audits, incident reviews, and performance outcomes
  • Manage electrical risks and support critical control and major hazard management programs
  • Provide training, coaching, and technical guidance to teams and contractors
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational and regulatory compliance

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering or maintenance in mining or heavy industrial environments
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade Certification with extensive experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory or superintendent role
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
