About the role:  
 
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, the Senior Engineering Supervisor, Projects is accountable for safely delivering a portfolio of capital projects for Elkview Operations on time and within budget. The role leads a multidisciplinary project team through all stages, from pre-scoping to closeout, and coordinates internal resources, external contractors and consultants to meet project objectives. Project scopes include infrastructure, earthworks, structural, mechanical and electrical work in both the mine and the processing plant.
 
The successful candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, communication and problem‑solving skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across functions to plan and execute both large and small projects. Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and demonstrated fiscal management are assets.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Define and track project scope, objectives, and scheduled deliverables
  • Plan, organize, secure and manage resources (internal teams, contractors and consultants) to deliver projects effectively and efficiently
  • Adhere to project governance standards including project charters, commercial processes, bid evaluations, stage gate reviews, management of change, contractor supervision, and operational readiness
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path and provide insight to senior management on progress and risks
  • Manage project costs through effective budgeting, cost tracking, reporting, and variance analysis
  • Lead, train, coach, and mentor a multidisciplinary team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Mining, or Electrical preferred)
  • Minimum of ten years of work experience with a minimum of three years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including aspects of engineering, permitting, procurement, and construction; experience in a heavy industrial sector is an asset
  • PMP designation is an asset
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite®: Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
