The Role 
The Isa Surface Operational Tailings teams provide bulk materials handling, Tailings mining and Tailing’s maintenance and management for various departments across the Mount Isa Mines lease. The positions are residentially based in Mount Isa.  

This position reports to the Supervisor Tailings on a 7x7 day shift only roster, previous experience is required with either dump trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, and or watercarts to meet the requirements of the role. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Operating a variety of Heavy Earth Moving equipment in a mining and or civil construction environment
  • Working with other departments, contractors, and teams to support and ensure production targets are safely met
  • Maintaining a high level of safety in the way we work
  • Stockpile management and mobile equipment interactions
  • Monitoring, reporting, and conducting operations within the asset’s footprint
  • Safe operation of machinery across site and positive communication during mining activities

  • Strong customer focus is required as well as a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Proven experience in heavy machinery operations within the mining or quarry sectors
