Advisor - Rehab
Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. About The Role:
Under the guidance of the Senior Rehab Advisor you will play a key role in delivering rehabilitation, closure and land management programs that support MRM’s long?term environmental objectives. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across field operations, contractor supervision, data collection and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote Glencore SafeWork protocols and processes to ensure a safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on planned Environment rehabilitation projects safely and efficiently.
- Support Senior Rehab Advisor with the planning and delivery of short and long term rehabilitation objectives.
- Support development, implementation, and tracking of closure reporting requirements across rehabilitation and land management programs.
- Provide field based support for revegetation programs, monitoring and cattle management controls across rehabilitation areas.
- Collect, interpret and maintain environmental and rehabilitation datasets for inspections, monitoring programs and regulatory reporting.
- Support of onsite nursery and propagation activities for revegetation programs.
- Collaborate with Community relations team to provide support, advice and engagement opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive team culture within both the Rehabilitation team as well as the Environment Team.
- Demonstrate flexibility and be able to adapt quickly to new ideas and concepts.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or related discipline.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, rehabilitation and land management principles.
- Experience working with or supervising contractors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise across multiple teams.
- Competent data management, reporting and use of GIS or mapping tools
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
