The Role
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting electrical maintenance activities across the operation, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with site objectives. You will oversee the coordination and execution of preventative, corrective and unplanned maintenance tasks, contribute to project planning and reliability improvements, and help maintain both operational and capital expenditure performance. As the Senior Electrical Supervisor, you will report directly to the Electrical Superintendent, working closely with mechanical, engineering, mining and services teams to uphold asset performance and support the site’s broader business plan.

The Role
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting electrical maintenance activities across the operation, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with site objectives. You will oversee the coordination and execution of preventative, corrective and unplanned maintenance tasks, contribute to project planning and reliability improvements, and help maintain both operational and capital expenditure performance. As the Senior Electrical Supervisor, you will report directly to the Electrical Superintendent, working closely with mechanical, engineering, mining and services teams to uphold asset performance and support the site’s broader business plan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Provide day to day leadership, coaching and oversight to electrical crews, ensuring safe, efficient and high quality execution of maintenance tasks.
- Lead the effective delivery of preventative, corrective and unplanned electrical maintenance to maximise availability and reliability of fixed assets.
- Coordinate response to unplanned events, using sound judgement to prioritise work, allocate resources and escalate matters when required.
- Support the planning and delivery of maintenance and engineering projects, including scheduling, resourcing, contractor interaction and quality assurance.
- Monitor and track capital and operational expenditure, assist with forecasting, and ensure financial controls are maintained.
- Drive reliability improvements by identifying issues, analysing root causes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across electrical systems.
- Apply and support work management processes to ensure maintenance activities are well planned, effectively prioritised, and accurately recorded.
- Maintain compliance with legislative, safety and organisational requirements, actively participating in site processes such as BSAFE, CCCs, 3Ws and change management.
- Build positive relationships with internal stakeholders including Mechanical, Engineering, Mining Operations and Services teams to ensure seamless coordination.
- Contribute to reporting requirements, including end of month processes, budget reviews and operational updates for the Superintendent.
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
- Current Electrical Licence and recognised electrical trade qualification or relevant engineering qualification.
- Demonstrated experience working with HV/LV reticulation, electrical maintenance strategies and fixed plant infrastructure.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance within heavy industry or mining (underground experience highly regarded).
- Strong leadership capability with experience guiding teams, promoting safe behaviours and holding others accountable to standards.
- Proficiency with maintenance management systems such as SAP or Coupa, and confident use of Microsoft applications.
- Solid understanding of capital management frameworks, budgeting and cost tracking processes.
- Current manual Queensland driver’s licence and relevant site safety competencies, including S123 (or equivalent).
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues, make sound operational decisions and support reliability improvement.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and contribute positively to team culture and operational performance.
