About the role: 

Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance, the Planning Supervisor, Maintenance is responsible for the supervision of the planning and scheduling team and leading them in developing, supporting, and handling of identified planned work.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, who is able to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives. Someone who will thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction, but also works well collaborating with a team. You will also have strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies  
  • Work with senior leadership to develop and implement the overall maintenance strategy and departmental direction
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators of our processes and systems
  • Deliver accurate budgeting and forecasting, focusing on key equipment, components and major work and collaborate closely with Mine Engineering and Operations to ensure alignment
  • Work to identify continuous improvement opportunities in each planning area, identifying processes which are either missing or are not optimized
  • Work with the Planners and Schedulers to provide critical feedback for the purposes of development and performance improvement
  • Ensure consistency of planning methods across different planning areas
  • Mentor and coordinate the continued development of a standard job plan library
  • Ensure all major maintenance work is adequately planned including Gantt charts and proper job plans, while developing and working within a robust shutdown management process
  • Drive implementation of maintenance strategies within the Computerized Maintenance Management System as outlined by the reliability engineering group
  • Work closely with condition monitoring personnel to assess and prioritize condition-based work orders

Requirements:

  • Journeyperson’s ticket or a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, or an equivalent level of experience
  • Very solid understanding of Planning and Scheduling duties and the accurate use of supporting computer systems
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience
  • Digital literacy and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Technical understanding of equipment maintenance and maintenance strategies and their implementation
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent 
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
