Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking multiple skilled and experienced Serviceperson’s to join the Operations team at George Fisher Mine. Reporting to the Fill & Services Supervisor, this position is residential in Mount Isa and requires you to work a 7 on / 7 off, day and night shift roster, providing grounds for an excellent work-life balance.

The Role
We are seeking multiple motivated and capable Servicepersons to join the Fill & Services Department at George Fisher Mine. Reporting to the Fill & Services Supervisor, these hands on roles play a critical part in installing, maintaining and supporting underground service infrastructure, including dewatering systems, ventilation, air, water and pipe reticulation. Working as part of a highly supportive crew, you will contribute to safe and efficient mine operations while operating specialised underground equipment and ensuring essential services remain reliable across the site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Install, repair and maintain underground vent, air, water and drain reticulation systems.
- Complete installation and maintenance works on pumps, poly pipe and extension cables.
- Carry out dewatering related service work, including pump monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Assist construction crews and support operational priorities as required.
- Safely operate underground equipment such as Caterpillar & Volvo ITCs and Normet vehicles (highly desirable).
- Engage positively with multiple departments to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
- Maintain strong housekeeping and follow all site safety protocols and procedures.
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Experience in underground services installation, ideally with pumping, piping or dewatering systems. (Essential)
- Experience operating underground machinery including Caterpillar or Volvo Integrated Tool Carriers; Normet experience highly desirable.
- Hard working, reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong safety focus and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities in an underground setting.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work requirements with strong time management skills.
