About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Performance, the Senior Lead, Regional Air & Climate Action provides enterprise-wide technical leadership for air quality permitting, compliance and reporting, air dispersion modeling, fugitive dust, greenhouse gas, and climate-related environmental management across EVR. This role supports asset and regional teams with permitting, regulatory interpretation, compliance reporting, and practical implementation of air and emissions-related requirements.
The role is responsible for the regional air quality monitoring and reporting program, guiding complex air quality and fugitive dust issues, supporting new and amended permits, and ensuring EVR meets key internal and external air, GHG, and climate reporting obligations. This position is also a relationship holder with the BC Government Air team and other regulatory agencies.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Comply with all EVR HSEC&HR standards and operating procedures
- Provide technical leadership and support on air quality permitting and compliance, reporting, air dispersion modeling review, National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) reporting, fugitive dust, emissions management, and related compliance issues across EVR
- Support asset teams with new permits, permit amendments, technical reviews, and implementation of air-related regulatory requirements
- Guide the development and review of air quality studies, regulatory submissions, management plans, and compliance strategies
- Act as EVR’s key relationship holder with the BC Government Air team and support regulator engagement on air and emissions-related matters
- Monitor and interpret provincial and federal air, emissions, and climate-related regulatory developments and communicate impacts to the business
- Oversee regional greenhouse gas and climate-related reporting requirements, including internal reporting, Scope 3 support, and external compliance submissions
- Coordinate or support annual and periodic air and emissions reporting, including regional air reports and other regulatory deliverables
- Provide practical, plain-language advice to site teams, leadership, and cross-functional partners on complex technical and regulatory matters
- Supervision and mentoring of Lead, Coordinator and co-ops, collaborate across teams of Senior Leads/Leads within Sustainable Development and operations. Provide regular key updates for Senior Leadership and Managers.
- Identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and quality in EVR’s air and emissions management systems, reporting, and processes
- Build strong working relationships and help align technical, operational, and regulatory stakeholders to advance priority work
- Project management experience for multiple projects
- Stakeholder engagement (like interaction with regulators, legal department as well as community members)
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in air quality, environmental permitting, emissions management, or environmental compliance, preferably in mining or heavy industry or in air quality consulting
- Strong technical understanding of air quality, fugitive dust, emissions, and environmental permitting and GHG regulations and reporting
- Experience supporting or leading air-related permits, amendments, regulatory submissions, and regulator engagement
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal air, greenhouse gas, and climate-related regulations and reporting requirements
- Experience reviewing technical studies, consultant reports, and environmental data related to air and emissions management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory issues into practical advice and clear direction
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
