About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Process Control Engineer is responsible for leading process improvements that drive value. Using your understanding of processing, you will help with plant optimization and support the design, implementation and continued operation of control strategies.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with outstanding problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills. The successful individual would be a motivated self-starter, organized, and able to prioritize contending demands in a fast-paced team environment.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Provide technical support for design and implementation of regulatory and advanced controllers and the real-time optimization of operational circuits, including configuring hardware/software infrastructure, conducting data analysis, controller monitoring, process modelling, benefit analysis and troubleshooting
- Lead and participate in process design reviews, and MOCs
- Provide technical support for maintenance on controls and electrical systems.
- Design, implement and maintain online process monitoring applications
- Analyze processes, equipment and review key targets to make recommendations on improved methods and optimization opportunities
- Identify, plan and execute technical projects to expand a sustainable culture of Process Control
- Provide advice to support troubleshooting process issues
- Supervise the work and safety compliance of outside suppliers and consulting personnel on site
Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering Degree/Diploma with 5 to 10 years of experience with electrical and control systems
- Experience with instrumentation, PLC, HMI, Historian, Networking & Communication fundamentals
- Able to understand and develop engineering documents such as P&ID’s, control narratives, function diagrams, network diagrams, single line drawings among other process and electrical engineering deliverables
- Experience with industrial control system security concepts and techniques, application source control, electrical systems
- Experience in testing and commissioning equipment and control systems.
- Strong process documentation and reporting capabilities
- Experience in maintaining, solving, and crafting regulatory and advance process control strategies in an industrial or manufacturing setting, is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
