Senior Advisor - Compliance, Reporting & Approvals

About The Role:
Leading the Compliance, Reporting and Approvals team under the guidance of the Superintendent – Environment, you will be responsible for managing regulatory compliance and assurance, coordinating environmental studies and approvals, and delivering accurate and timely environmental reporting to both government and corporate stakeholders.
The successful applicant with have a safety-first attitude, leading by example for a team of 2-3 personnel developing and honing their skills and profession.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote Glencore SafeWork protocols and processes to ensure a safe work environment.
- Manage and develop a team of professionals, allocating and monitoring workload whilst ensuring a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Provide accurate and consistent advice on environmental queries.
- Execute projects and tasks based on the company vision.
- Lead and contribute to the regulatory compliance and assurance framework, ensuring it aligns with company and statutory commitments.
- Produce and review reports based on internal and external requirements, including for government stakeholders.
- Lead and manage internal and external audits against relevant compliance requirements.
- Manage and coordinate environmental studies, impact assessments and regulatory approvals to support ongoing operations at the Mine.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related field
- Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to drive team performance and development.
- Extensive experience in regulatory compliance, assurance, studies and approvals.
- Proven ability to write, review, and deliver environmental reports.
- Strong knowledge of mining operations and processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
