The Role
Mount Isa Mines have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join the Information Systems & Technology department. Working in the Operational Support team, you will support a variety of enterprise systems including the desktop standard operating environment (SOE), IT Compliance, IT/OT Business Projects. You will be responsible for the support and management of packaging and deploying software, updates and patches as well as working with other technical teams to ensure IT & OT systems are secure and compliant with Glencore global IT standards. This is a residential position based in Mount Isa working a 9 day fortnight and requires participation in an on-call roster.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Supporting IT/OT convergence and security standards
- Security Incident Management
- Supporting IT business project scoping and implementation
- Configuration, monitoring and support of MECM
- Management of physical and VDI endpoints
- Packaging, testing, deployment and reporting of Operating Systems, Applications and updates including post-build support
- Ensure compliance with Glencore IS&T security policies including patching and vulnerability management
- Handle escalations and provide guidance and support for Service Delivery teams (Service Desk & Field Support)
- Continuous improvement initiatives around desktop hardware management
The successful applicants will have:
- Diploma or Degree/s in Information Technology or equivalent experience will be highly regarded
- Extensive experience with IT/OT support, design and development of IT/OT architecture, project roadmaps and workflows.
- Implementing IT/OT standards and best practices across site
- Understanding and demonstrated experience with Security Incident Management and processes.
- Operate and execute change control process for system deployment and release
- SCCM/MECM in an enterprise environment supporting Windows 11
- Demonstrated knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Power BI, VMware, Office 365, Cloud Platforms
- Able to communicate and troubleshoot effectively with all levels of staff within the IS&T team and across the business
- A team player who is self-driven and motivated with highly interpersonal and customer service skills are essential
