Glencore are currently advertising for a Operations Analyst – Quality Assurance & Control vacancy that exists in the global Technical Quality Control team. This role is residentially based in Brisbane, with regular business travel both domestic and globally.

Our Glencore Metals Australia (GMA) business encompasses a complex and diverse scope across Zinc, Nickel and Copper Assets in Qld, NT and WA, including underground and open pit mines, processing plants (concentrators, smelters and a refinery) and port facilities.

About the role
This position reports to the Principal - Global Quality Control and Laboratory. You will provide technical expertise across Glencore’s Global QA/QC programs, supporting minerals trading, metals recycling, processing and verification activities. You will audit, evaluate and improve processes and controls across the supply chain, ensuring product integrity, consistency, and compliance.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, implement and continuously improve QA/QC programs across laboratories, mines and smelter assets
- Develop and maintain SOPs for sampling, sample preparation and analysis
- Use data analysis and QA systems to monitor performance and support decision making
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, smelters and operations to meet customer specifications
- Conduct regular audits and assessments, identifying improvements and corrective actions
- Review technical information, identify root causes and implement risk reducing solutions
- Quickly and accurately collate data and produce reports for quality improvement and verification programs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across laboratories, mines, smelters and marketing teams
About you
You are a detail driven technical professional with strong analytical capability and a solid grounding in quality assurance and control within the minerals or metals supply chain. You bring the ability to interpret complex technical information, identify root causes and implement practical improvements that strengthen product integrity and reduce commercial risk.
Your background includes exposure to sampling, sample preparation, analysis processes and QA/QC systems, along with the confidence to collaborate across laboratories, mines, smelters, marketing teams and other stakeholders.
This role is also suitable for motivated recent graduates who are seeking a diverse role with a difference. You work autonomously, show initiative, and communicate clearly, enabling you to support quality programs across a diverse and global operational landscape.
Technical Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in chemical, metallurgical engineering, geology, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of sampling, sample preparation and analysis of concentrates, ores and smelter products.
- Familiarity with QA/QC systems, standards and quality control methodologies.
- Ability to interpret technical data, identify issues and support method validation.
- Experience conducting audits or assessments within minerals or metals processes.
- Strong analytical capability with attention to detail and risk based decision making
