The Role
We have residential positions available within our Copper Smelter Electrical team. This exciting opportunity will see you gain exposure to the largest industrial complex in Australia, specifically the part where copper concentrate becomes copper metal.

 The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preventative & Statutory maintenance
• Breakdowns & Fault finding
• Continuous improvement of the Electrical Infrastructure
• Working within a team environment
• Contributing to the flow of copper from one of only two Australian Copper Smelters

What we need from you:

• Trade qualification – Electrician with an equivalent Queensland Electrical Mechanic License
• An eye for detail and a want for high work quality
• Safety as a core personal value
• The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively

Nice to Have’s:

• Industrial process control, instrumentation maintenance and calibrations
• LV/HV Motors, VVVF drives, HV switchgear/switching, turbines and synchronous machines
• Yokogawa Centum VP DCS and Allen Bradley PLCs (or have had exposure to similar control systems)
• Cert 3 or 4 in Instrumentation
• Fixed plant maintenance

The Mount Isa Copper smelter is one of two Copper Smelters in Australia. We process over a 1,000,000 tonnes of Copper Concentrate per year from both our own mines and from sources all over the country and globe.
