Queensland Metals Glencore is currently seeking a Supervisor Mechanical Blast Furnace within our Lead Smelter department. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide timely and appropriate services to the Blast Furnace Maintenance team, focusing on customer requirements whilst maintaining high quality maintenance support to work effectively to drive and support the team.
You will be responsible for the supervision of the personnel to ensure work is conducted in the safest and most effective manner possible. This is a residential position, and you will be required to work in accordance with a 5/2/4/3 dayshift roster.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Management of your crew/s on their day to day performance
- Manage shutdowns
- Ability to plan and control shift Maintenance operations to optimise the use of all available resources
- Conduct regular compliance audits and workplace inspections
- The ability to build and maintain an effective team through coaching and personnel role modelling
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
- Minimum of mechanical trade fitter or boilermaker
- Tertiary qualification in engineering/asset management field (would be highly regarded)
- Previous experience within a large mining production or heavy industry environment
- S1, S2, S3 qualifications are preferred
- You will also be able to promote a constructive culture within your team
- You will have the ability to make decisions, work to deadline high level of work quality, exceptional communication skills and strive for a continuous improvement
