About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Lead, Training and Development, the Senior Coordinator, Training, is responsible for the overall direction, development, implementation, and delivery of the training required for Line Creek Mine Operations Department.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and supervisory skills, who has a passion for leading a team and contributing to other people's personal and professional growth. You must have demonstrated organizational skills, the ability to prioritize workloads and a proven track record of keeping accurate records of all training events.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Provide and source training, including job based or hands on, simulation technologies, Computer-Based-Training, and developmental instruction using materials that have been created both internally and externally
  • Deliver comprehensive training based on safe work procedures and site training requirements including simulator, classroom work and field work
  • Provide direction to the Training Coordinators on their respective shifts and interact directly with the Mine Operations department
  • Direct new and specialized training programs utilizing new technologies and innovations whenever possible to ensure Line Creek remains competitive
  • Work with Senior Leaders to continually determine training needs and priorities, assess training programs, and work with staff to develop training courses, plans, and solutions
  • Collaborate with departments on preparing and developing plans for projects and programs
  • Guide and assist subject matter experts with the development and delivery methods for required training content
  • Take a logical approach to writing, revising, and implementing policies and procedures as well as creating new training materials

Requirements:

  • Minimum eight years of open pit mining, maintenance, or training experience
  • Understanding of both Project Management and Change Management
  • Excellent digital literacy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite®; Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint including familiarity with company Training History Program is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
