About the role:
 
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, Support Services, the Analyst, Cost is responsible for business partnering with functional groups and supporting them with all financial planning and accounting cycles. This position will work closely with senior leadership of functional groups to support timely financial and operational reporting, including development of key performance indicators, reports, dashboards, and strategic analysis.
 
To be successful, we are looking for a strategic thinker who uses sophisticated analytical and problem-solving abilities to find solutions. This person has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and displays a strong dedication to ethical management behaviors and business and reporting practices. The ability to work independently in fast-moving and dynamic environments is vital for success.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to provide critical insights into opportunities for improvement, maintain data systems, and provide monthly reporting to functional and corporate groups. In this role you will assist in providing business analytics, reporting, modelling, and financial evaluation, as well as providing executive decision support.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis for all stages of the annual business planning cycle, including forecast, budget, Five Year Plan and Life of Mine
  • Develop strategic presentation and information packages to assist senior management in decision making
  • Maintain an effective financial control and reporting system for activities unique to the functional departments, including management reporting enhancements for projects, and non-routine spend approval processes
  • Review and interpret financial results and forecasts, with management to determine the impact on the operation and entities
  • Coordinate financial planning with functional activities to provide guidance, analysis and performance reporting on strategic initiatives and KPIs

Requirements:

  • Professional designation related to finance (CPA, CFA, MBA, etc.)
  • Minimum five years’ experience in full cycle accounting, financial planning, or operational continuous improvement
  • Advanced user of financial data and reporting systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite® Excel, PowerPoint, Power Query and Power BI
  • Experience in Dynamics AX, D365, Atlas Reporting, would be an asset
