The Role
We are seeking an experienced and capable Senior Asset Management and Reliability Engineer to provide leadership across asset management, maintenance strategy, and reliability improvement for our operation. This is a senior leadership role requiring a strong mining industry background, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive measurable improvement in asset performance, safety, and cost.
The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in mining and infrastructure asset management, maintenance strategy development, and reliability engineering, together with demonstrated capability to lead technical teams and embed disciplined asset management practices across the operation.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and capable Senior Asset Management and Reliability Engineer to provide leadership across asset management, maintenance strategy, and reliability improvement for our operation. This is a senior leadership role requiring a strong mining industry background, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive measurable improvement in asset performance, safety, and cost.
The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in mining and infrastructure asset management, maintenance strategy development, and reliability engineering, together with demonstrated capability to lead technical teams and embed disciplined asset management practices across the operation.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead the Reliability function and foster a strong team culture through visible leadership, mentoring, coaching, and capability development.
- Lead the development, review, and optimisation of maintenance strategies for fixed assets using RCM and FMEA principles, ensuring alignment with required asset performance, reliability, risk, and lifecycle objectives.
- Drive reliability improvement through RCFA, Defect Elimination, condition monitoring, asset performance analysis, replacement planning, and spare parts strategy for critical assets.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing asset performance, reducing waste, and lowering cost.
- Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership in the field, regular engagement with teams, and reinforcement of compliance with company standards and procedures, including support for incident investigations and quality assurance of mechanical equipment installations.
- Contribute to maintenance budgeting and maintain accountability for expenditure and the effective use of resources within the Reliability area.
- A degree qualification in Engineering, together with substantial experience in reliability, asset management, or maintenance engineering within mining or heavy industry.
- At least 8 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry, including a minimum of 5 years in reliability, asset management, or maintenance engineering roles.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience supervising, mentoring, and developing teams to deliver business outcomes.
- Strong understanding of asset management, maintenance strategy, and reliability improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of RCM, FMEA, RCFA, and Defect Elimination principles.
- Sound knowledge of mineral processing systems, plant equipment, and the interrelationship between operational and maintenance processes.
- Strong working knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems, with SAP experience essential.
- Familiarity with Isograph Availability Workbench or similar reliability and maintenance strategy software will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in budgeting, cost management, and resource planning within a maintenance or reliability function.
- Sound understanding of risk management, safety systems, and legislative requirements relevant to the mining industry.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong document management and technical reporting capability.
