Position Overview:
Reporting to the Mine Technical Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of mine engineering and contribute meaningfully to our operational success. This role offers exposure to multiple technical areas, including Mine Design, Scheduling, Long-Term Planning, Ground Control, and Mine Systems. The EIT will provide technical support within their designated area and accumulate the experience required for a professional engineering designation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support mine engineering functions by contributing to design, planning, and scheduling activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering and Production personnel
- Assist in achieving production, cost, and safety targets
- Ensure strict adherence to site safety standards, environmental policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Participate in technical studies, data analysis, and implementation of innovative solutions
Qualifications:
- A degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution
- 1–2 years of relevant experience, including co-op or internship placements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent mining design software
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
- Experience with Deswik, MineRP, or other mine planning and scheduling systems (asset)
- Familiarity with database management, data analytics, and dashboarding tools (asset)
- Interest or background in electronics, robotics, or instrumentation (asset)
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, or Tuesday to Friday, 10-hour shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
We offer a competitive wage and bonus plan complemented by a comprehensive range of benefits.
Wage will vary depending on experience, education and certification. $70,000 - 87,000 annually.
