Position Overview:
Reporting to Kidd Operations’ Mine Manager, the Mine Operations Superintendent’s primary objective is to ensure the safe and effective leadership and execution of the plan. Kidd Operations operates a complex underground operation from 5200 - 10,000ft as well as numerous surface activities. The successful candidate will work with other Operational Superintendents to manage safety, people, costs and production, safe output of mining activities occurring simultaneously throughout the mine and will ensure mine outputs occur according to operational objectives.
Key accountabilities include:
- the promotion of IRS and ensuring HSEC objectives for Kidd Operations employees are met
- implementing improvement strategies to ensure targets are achieved
- coordinating with other Superintendents for mining processes, mobile and fixed maintenance and other departments to ensure overall mine production goals are met
- assisting the engineering group to establish plans and priorities ensuring that resources are available to achieve such plans
- setting performance expectation rates for forecast, schedule and daily execution
- ensuring seniors and front-line supervisors execute daily and weekly schedules
- creating annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring and tracking costs within said budgets
- recommending and implementing recovery plans to address plan anomalies
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership capacity and managing large multi-disciplinary teams
- 10+ years of underground mining experience
- Preference will be given to applicants with a Mining Engineering degree or a Technical Diploma with
progressive experience in underground mining - Lean or business improvement management certification or training will be considered an asset
We offer a competitive wage and bonus plan complemented by a comprehensive range of benefits.
Wage will vary depending on experience, education and certification. $140,000-$180,000 annually.
