Position Overview
Reporting to the Mine Technical Services Superintendent, the Mine Vent Tech is accountable for providing technical support in an underground environment to ensure safe and cost-effective production. The successful candidate will be a technology orientated individual that will work in the areas of survey, ventilation and mine systems along with a team of technicians, technologists, engineers and production personnel. Responsibilities include carrying out measurements, calculations, designs, and inspections with an emphasis on in-field troubleshooting, problem solving, and incorporating technology into their daily tasks.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have:
- A Technician or Technologist diploma in mining, electrical, instrumentation or related trade
- Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Excel, CAD, and data basing
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Experience with 3D modeling, simulation, and automation software packages will be considered an asset
- The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable around cutting-edge, modern mining technology and instrumentation (automated controls, mobile devices, UAVs etc.)

Wage will vary depending on experience, education and certification. Salary range $70,000-$80,000 annually.
