Position Overview

The main function of the position is to maximize the paste plant’s mechanical availability by performing and scheduling planned maintenance as well as repairing/troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns. This position will also be responsible for plant process improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimize unplanned breakdowns
  • Plan and prepare for plant repairs
  • Implement plant improvements
  • Manage contractors in order to complete specialty maintenance work using the contractor management system (Cognibox)
  • Comply with all site policies, practices and procedures at all time to ensure that assigned work can be completed without incident; immediately report to supervisor all injuries, incidents and near-misses for follow-up.
  • Create follow-up work orders for all work that has arisen through the course of normal work; assign the appropriate priority based on the criticality of the work.
  • Immediately report to supervisor all deviations from the maintenance schedule and any condition identified on equipment which is outside the tolerance provided on the work order or the generally accepted good condition of the equipment.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Participate in safety initiatives and programs

Qualifications

  • 10 years of previous experience with plant maintenance and plant operations
  • Experience with cement/pastefill batching considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team approach
  • Mechanical or Millwright diploma/certficates considered an asset but not required

We offer a competitive wage and bonus plan complemented by a comprehensive range of benefits. Wage will vary depending on experience, education and certification. Salary range $78,000-$96,000 annually. Candidates must ensure that progressive, sustainable improvements within the department are consistent with business objectives and our health, safety, environmental and community policies.
