Position Overview:
Reporting to the Construction Supervisor will support the underground operations by executing a variety of construction-related tasks in accordance with safety and operational standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe and efficient mine development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct work area inspections to ensure compliance with all safety protocols and directives issued by the Construction Supervisor
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and layouts
- Install ventilation systems including fans, vent conduits, and piping
- Apply shotcrete in designated areas
- Carry out general underground construction duties and manual labour tasks as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core certification is an asset
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment and working in an underground mining environment
- Proven knowledge of paste wall construction and paste pipe installation, including experience with paste blasting
- Experience in stope preparation or related underground mining tasks
- Additional equipment certifications and licenses (tractor, scoop, scissor lift, flatbed truck, transmixer) are highly desirable
- CWB certification is considered an asset, particularly with all-position welding capability
- Prior shotcrete experience is strongly preferred
Schedule: 7 days on, followed by 7 days off; 11-hour day and night shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
