We are seeking a licensed millwright; however, if no licensed candidates are available, qualified apprentices will be considered.

Reporting to the Fixed Plant Supervisor, the successful candidates’ primary responsibilities will revolve around adhering to and promoting all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.  Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on underground fixed plant equipment, including hoist systems, pumps, compressors, piping systems, conveyors, and ventilation fans
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures to minimize downtime and optimize reliability
  • Install, align, and repair shafts, belts, chains, motors, and drive systems to ensure proper functionality
  • Assist with the installation, dismantling, and relocation of underground fixed plant infrastructure
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work orders, reporting, and equipment tracking
  • Adhere to and promote all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance practices and equipment performance for increased efficiency and reduced downtime

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certification (433A); in the absence of licensed millwrights, qualified apprentices may be considered
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a mining environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Experience in welding, fabrication, and machining is an asset
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and safety standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an interest in continuous improvement 

Schedule: Monday to Thursday with 10-hour shifts, straight days (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)


As this position is in a safety-sensitive environment, final candidates must successfully complete Drug & Alcohol testing as part of our pre-employment process.
