Queensland Metals Glencore is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor within our Mines Power Station department. Reporting to the MPS Superintendent, you will be required to effectively co-ordinate and supervise a team of mechanical personnel carrying out maintenance, project and installation work within the Copper Smelter assets.

This is a Mount Isa residential position, and you will be required to work in accordance with a 4/3 12-hour day roster.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring that mechanical maintenance tasks are carried out in a safe and timely manner
• Management of your crews performance
• Manage shutdowns
• Ability to plan and control maintenance operations to optimise the use of all available resources
• Conduct regular compliance audits and workplace inspections
• The ability to build and maintain an effective team through coaching and personnel role modelling

 
You will have the following skillset and attributes:

• Minimum 5 years Trade experience
• Trade qualification – Mechanical fitter
• Ability to run contracting teams and manage small projects
• Previous experience with heavy industrial fixed plant maintenance
• S1, S2, S3 qualifications are preferred
• You will also be able to promote a constructive culture within your team
• You will have the ability to make decisions, work to deadlines, high level of work quality, exceptional communication skills and strive for continuous improvement
