Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Job description.

 

Reporting directly to the Manager – Project Controls & PMO, the incumbent will be responsible for consolidating, validating, analyzing, and communicating project and portfolio data to support management decision-making. He/She will work closely with various Project Controls functions to integrate information related to costs, schedules, progress, procurement, commercial aspects, and project governance. The role will also contribute to the preparation and maintenance of management reports and dashboards, trend and variance analysis, and the continuous improvement and automation of Project Controls & PMO reporting processes.

 

His responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Consolidating and validating project and portfolio data includes integrating cost, schedule, progress, procurement and governance data from different sources and functions.
  • Ensuring the quality and consistency of project data includes verifying the completeness, accuracy and consistency of information, as well as identifying and correcting missing, duplicate or inconsistent data with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintaining reference data and project reporting bases includes managing project codes, classifications, reporting structures and histories necessary for monitoring portfolio performance.
  • Preparing Project Controls reports includes producing weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports related to project and portfolio performance.
  • Analyzing project and portfolio performance includes analyzing actual costs, commitments and forecasts against approved budgets, as well as analyzing schedules and physical progress against plans.
  • Identifying and analyzing performance gaps and trends includes identifying cost and time gaps, trends, delays, under-consumption or budget overruns, as well as risks of spending deferral.
  • Highlighting exceptions requiring management attention includes analyzing available data to identify key risks, deviations, and performance elements requiring management action or decision.
  • Developing and maintaining Project Controls and PMO dashboards includes presenting data in a clear and structured manner to improve Management's visibility into project and portfolio performance.
  • reporting processes includes using Power BI, Power Query and Excel to automate recurring reports, improve reporting processes and enhance the effectiveness of data analysis.
  • Providing support for portfolio and governance body reporting includes preparing the information required for portfolio reviews and steering committee meetings. Committees and other governance forums.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of reporting and data visualization standards includes identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the quality, efficiency and relevance of management information.

 

Job requirements.

 

Qualifications and experience.

 

  • Hold a university or technical degree in engineering, project management, finance, business analytics , data analytics , information systems or a relevant related field.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in Project Controls, project analysis, data analysis or management reporting .
  • Possess advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint, as well as strong data analysis and reporting skills .
  • Possess experience in project performance analysis, particularly in terms of costs, schedules, progress, forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Experience with SAP, Primavera P6, Power Query and/or VBA is an advantage.
  • Experience in a mining, mineral processing, engineering or investment project environment is an advantage.

 

Technical skills.

 

  • Mastering MS Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint tools at an advanced level.
  • Possess strong skills in data analysis, reporting and data visualization.
  • Possess a good understanding of Project Controls principles, particularly regarding costs, schedules, progress and forecasting.
  • Mastering Power Query and the principles of data management and consolidation.
  • Being able to develop and maintain dashboards that allow for a clear reading of project performance.
  • Being able to perform trend analyses, variance analyses, forecasts and identify key performance exceptions.
  • Practical knowledge of SAP and Primavera P6 or MS Project is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of VBA, SQL or other data automation tools is an advantage.
