Main objectives of the position

 

Under the direct supervision of the IT/OT/IS Manager, the IT System Infrastructure Superintendent aims to ensure the availability, performance, security and sustainability of IT infrastructures; Oversee systems, storage, backups and cybersecurity functions, while ensuring the technical consistency of the information system.

The incumbent also ensures that performance, costs and control of IT risks are optimized across the company.

 

Minimum qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent.
  • Microsoft, VMware, or Cisco certifications desired.
  • Cybersecurity certification such as Security+, CEH or equivalent.
  • Certification in project management preferred.
  • Management or leadership certification desired.
  • ITIL certification desired

Required Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the field of IT infrastructure and systems, including 3 years of experience in a supervisory or team coordination role.
  • Proven experience in systems and server administration, backup and disaster recovery, cybersecurity and risk management, virtualization and storage technologies.

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Good knowledge of SAN, NAS, and DAS storage solutions.
  • Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and vulnerability management tools.
  • Skills in capacity planning and system performance monitoring.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Analytical mind and structured approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage risk and promote continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee the availability, reliability and performance of IT infrastructures.
  • Monitor and administer servers, storage, virtualization, cloud, and network services.
  • Plan capacity and optimize the use of IT resources.
  • Manage updates, patches, configurations, migrations, and deployments.
  • Oversee incidents, coordinate their resolution and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Define and test backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure the capacity, performance, and availability of storage solutions.
  • Coordinate the management of IT vulnerabilities, threats, and risks.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects and the adoption of new technologies.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and monitor projects until they are closed.
  • Produce performance, safety and quality of service reports.
  • Contribute to audits and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Integrate environmental requirements into IT operations and projects.
  • Improve the energy efficiency of IT installations.
  • Ensure the secure management of batteries, obsolete equipment and electronic waste.
  • Identify and control environmental risks related to technical installations.
  • Report environmental incidents and track corrective actions.
  • Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
