Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Under the direct supervision of the Underground Production Manager, the role of the incumbent will be to plan, coordinate and supervise all underground mining production activities to ensure the achievement of safety, production, quality and cost objectives. He/She will ensure the optimal use of human, material and technical resources while ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance standards. The position actively contributes to the continuous improvement of operational performance, team development and collaboration with the various departments to ensure sustainable, safe and efficient mining operations.
He/She will have, among others, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
- Ensure the coordination of underground mine production operations. This includes planning, organizing, and day-to-day supervision of production activities to achieve tonnage, ore quality, and productivity targets, while ensuring execution in line with production plans and operational priorities;
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards. This includes implementing the company's HSE policies, proactively identifying hazards and risks, tracking corrective and preventive actions, as well as promoting a "zero incident" culture among employees and partner companies;
- Optimize production performance and cost control. This includes monitoring performance indicators, analysing gaps between objectives and results, implementing improvement actions and optimising the use of resources to ensure profitable and sustainable production;
- Develop and monitor operational budgets. This includes preparing the department's quarterly, monthly and annual budgets, controlling expenses, monitoring operating costs as well as proposing measures to improve the financial performance of mining operations;
- Collaborate with technical and support departments. This includes regular communication with the Mine Technical Services, Maintenance, Processing Plant, Supply and other support functions to ensure effective planning and coordination of mining activities;
- Develop skills and support teams. This includes coaching, mentoring, and developing employees to strengthen their technical skills, autonomy, commitment, and ability to achieve set goals;
- Ensuring the availability and optimal use of mineral resources. This includes coordinating staff, equipment, spare parts, consumables, and infrastructure to maximize equipment availability and ensure efficient execution of production plans;
- Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement. This includes identifying opportunities for improvement, participating in the development of new ways of working, contributing to operations optimization projects, and adopting mining industry best practices;
- Ensure regulatory and operational compliance. This includes compliance with mining legislation, environmental requirements, internal procedures, governance standards as well as company policies to ensure responsible and compliant operations;
- Supervise contractors and operational stakeholders. This includes coordinating the contracting companies working on the site, monitoring their performance, verifying their compliance with HSE and operational requirements as well as maintaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders;
