About the role:
 
Reporting to the Supervisor, Mining Systems, the Senior Analyst, Mining Systems will be working in a high-performing team that is responsible for delivering and supporting digital technologies that transform EVR’s mining operations.
 
This role blends advanced systems administration with cutting-edge operational technology. You’ll take ownership of critical infrastructure—servers, databases, virtualization platforms, and networks—while ensuring the reliability and performance of mining systems that drive safety, productivity, and sustainability. You’ll also work closely with trusted technology partners to implement and maintain these solutions.
 
Depending on experience, this position may be filled at the Systems Analyst or Senior Systems Analyst level. Both roles require strong technical skills and a collaborative mindset, with the senior level providing leadership in design, optimization, and mentoring.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Administer and maintain digital mining systems and supporting infrastructure across EVR operations, prioritizing safe production
  • Manage servers, virtualization environments, databases, and networking components to ensure high availability and performance
  • Apply organizational change management techniques to maximize adoption of new technologies
  • Develop and maintain standards, documentation, and system architecture diagrams
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support
  • Facilitate and support cybersecurity improvements, incident response, and forensics
  • Mentor and coach technology professionals and lead complex projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or Technical Diploma with equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure support.
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and ability to maintain strong relationships with business partners.
  • Excellent analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with:
o   Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop OS
o   Linux administration
o   Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
o   Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls) and exposure to wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, LTE).
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record. 

Desirable Competencies:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Linux+, VMware, or Azure/AWS
  • Deployment/support experience with mining technology platforms (CAT Minestar, Komatsu Frontrunner, Wenco, Hexagon Safemine, etc.)
  • Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
