Job description.

Reporting directly to the Condition Monitoring Superintendent , the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating condition monitoring activities to improve the reliability, availability, and performance of critical production equipment. They will oversee the implementation of condition-based maintenance programs, analyze equipment condition, and formulate technical recommendations to optimize maintenance interventions. Working closely with maintenance, planning, operations, engineering, and project teams, they will contribute to reducing failures and downtime costs, and supporting the continuous improvement of facility performance.

His responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Implementing the equipment condition monitoring program includes planning, coordinating and monitoring condition maintenance activities, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic analysis and precision maintenance techniques to ensure the reliability of critical equipment.
Analyzing the condition of critical production equipment includes interpreting inspection results, early identification of potential failures, assessing technical risks, and formulating recommendations to prevent breakdowns and optimize facility availability.
Defining maintenance intervention priorities includes analyzing notifications from Condition Monitoring inspections, prioritizing corrective actions, monitoring their execution, and coordinating with maintenance teams to ensure that anomalies are addressed within the required timeframes.
Ensuring the performance of the Condition Monitoring program includes monitoring the completion of inspections, tracking performance indicators, analyzing the completion rates of corrective actions, and preparing reports for the Superintendent and other stakeholders.
Developing and optimizing condition-based maintenance strategies includes identifying opportunities for improvement, adapting monitoring methods, reviewing maintenance strategies in the AMT system, and updating maintenance plans based on analysis results.
Providing technical expertise in equipment reliability includes supporting maintenance, engineering and project teams, proposing technical solutions tailored to performance issues, and contributing to projects to improve the reliability of installations.
Analyzing equipment failures and proposing preventive actions includes investigating the causes of critical failures, developing technical recommendations, defining prevention methods, and planning equipment replacement when necessary.
Ensuring compliance with HSE standards, procedures and requirements includes adherence to health, safety, environment and quality policies, application of condition-based maintenance standards and promotion of best practices among relevant teams.
Coordinating the human and material resources of the department includes organizing the team's activities, motivating employees, making optimal use of equipment and work tools, and managing the logistical needs necessary for the proper functioning of the department.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of equipment performance includes analyzing reliability trends, sharing feedback, participating in technical meetings and proposing initiatives to sustainably improve operational performance and asset availability.

Job requirements.

Qualifications and experience.

Have a degree in Civil Engineering in Electromechanics or a degree in Electromechanics Technology or in an equivalent discipline.
Have at least five (5) years of professional experience for holders of an Engineering degree or seven (7) years for holders of a Technician degree in a similar position.
Having experience in the mining, metallurgical or industrial sectors.
Having experience in condition monitoring, predictive maintenance or equipment reliability is a major asset.
Have a good knowledge of mining and metallurgical production equipment.

Technical skills.

Have a good command of condition monitoring techniques.
Have a good knowledge of vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography and ultrasonic techniques.
Have a good grasp of the principles of predictive, preventive and precision maintenance.
Having a good ability to analyze failures and formulate technical recommendations.
Have a good knowledge of the rotating equipment used in mining and metallurgical facilities.
Have a good command of computer-aided maintenance management systems (AMT or equivalent system).
Have a good knowledge of maintenance, health, safety, environment and quality standards.
Having a good command of computer tools, especially Microsoft Office.

Have a good command of French as well as a functional knowledge of English.
