Main objectives of the position
Reporting to the Legal Superintendent, the Legal Advisor is responsible for providing legal support to the Company through the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and minimizing legal and contractual risks.
The incumbent plays a key role in managing the Company's contract database, monitoring contractual obligations, producing reliable legal reports, and providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on contractual, regulatory, corporate, and labour-related matters. The position also contributes to legal compliance, litigation management, corporate governance activities, and continuous monitoring of legislative developments affecting the Company's operations.
Minimum qualification
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Law (LLB or related legal qualification).
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years' professional experience practicing law with a strong focus on contract law and legal document management.
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering commercial contracts.
- Experience providing legal advice in corporate, commercial, labour, or mining-related matters.
- Experience managing legal documentation and contract databases.
- Experience conducting legal research and preparing legal opinions and reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
- Experience working in a corporate or industrial environment will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of the Democratic Republic of Congo legal framework, particularly mining, labour, commercial, and corporate legislation.

- Strong organizational and document management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal document management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts and other legal documents.
- Ensure contractual terms comply with applicable Congolese legislation while protecting the Company's interests.
- Maintain and administer the Company's contract database, ensuring document traceability and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of corporate legal documentation, including statutory meetings and regulatory filings.
- Provide legal advice to operational and support departments on contractual, regulatory, labour, and mining law matters.
- Support the management of litigation and disputes in collaboration with external legal counsel.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, reports, and executive summaries.
- Monitor contractual obligations and alert relevant stakeholders of upcoming contractual milestones.
- Prepare legal dashboards, performance indicators, compliance reports, and legal risk assessments.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the Company's operations and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ensure compliance with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
