About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent – Logistics MIM, the Bulk Logistics Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the logistics and inventory team to ensure continuity of supply, cost-effective procurement, and optimal stock levels for bulk commodities including fuel, cement, flocculant and other key operational materials. This residential Mount Isa role plays a critical part in coordinating logistics activities across the business, ensuring commodities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with operational requirements. The role would be a Monday to Friday, 40 hour week.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the safe transport, delivery and storage of bulk commodities across site operations.
  • Ensure deliveries are received in full, on time and in accordance with service level agreements.
  • Reconcile metal production from Smelters and report on movements to destination at Refinery or Port of Townsville.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for rail and road transport providers, suppliers and internal customers.
  • Monitor and track weekly, monthly and annual logistics and inventory management plans.
  • Manage logistics contractors and ensure compliance with legislative requirements and company policies.

 

Required experience

 

You are a highly organised logistics professional with experience coordinating bulk commodity movements across complex operational environments. You have strong stakeholder engagement skills and can build effective working relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal customers. With a proactive approach to planning and inventory management, you are comfortable managing competing priorities while ensuring continuity of supply. You possess excellent problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and compliance standards.

 

You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience managing rail, road and/or sea freight logistics operations.
  • Demonstrated planning, scheduling and inventory management experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, contractors and operations teams.
  • Excellent computer literacy and record-keeping capabilities. (MS Excel and SAP)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify and implement practical solutions.
