Purpose and objective

The Sectoral Permitting and Licensing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely execution and implementation of the permit and license management strategy for the projects and components of the mining operation.

 

Education

  • Degree and Chartered in Mining, Metallurgy, Civil Engineering, Environmental or related.
  • Master's degree/specialization in mining management, project management, integrated management systems and/or other specialties in the mining sector.
  • Diplomas or training courses in Mining Legislation and Environmental Legislation, etc.

 

Specific Experience and Knowledge

  • 10 years of experience in the management of permits and licenses, sectoral and/or environmental instruments in the mining industry.
  • Experience in the management of permits for the exploration, exploitation, operation and/or closure stages of mining operations.
  • Experience in defining strategies, analyzing scenarios and risks associated with obtaining sectoral permits and licenses
  • Experience in interrelation with sectoral authorities and supervisory entities related to mining in Peru.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing permit files until they are obtained.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems and Peruvian mining legislation.
  • Tool management: Office, MS Project and/or Primavera P6, Autocad, ArcGIS intermediate level, AI tools.
  • Intermediate English level management 

 

 

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Management of the files for obtaining the sectoral permits of the Coroccohuayco project:
  • Coordination with the areas that own the project subject to the permit and the support areas, the generation of technical information of the permit according to the RFI.
  • Review of technical information based on compliance with the content indicated in the standard and its alignment with the IGA.
  • Preparation and integration of the file based on the respective regulation
  • Participation in the necessary meetings with the authorities to support the files presented and facilitate their understanding
  • Schedule Management:
  • Master schedule control and updates quarterly or for major changes
  • Maintenance of permit KPIs.
  • Preparation of reports on the status of the progress of the permit schedule.
  • Risk Control:
      • Keep the permit risk assessment matrix up to date
      • Ensure compliance with action plans to mitigate risks to the schedule.
      • Develop and disseminate educational material to sensitize staff to the ecosystem, the importance and their responsibility with permits
  • Tactical strategy assurance:
  • Implement the action plan aligned with the defined strategy.
  • Identify potential deviations from the permitting schedule in a timely manner and analyze their causes to escalate the risk.
  • Identify HSEC aspects and manage the implementation of HSEC controls in their area of responsibility.
  • Carry out the identification and evaluation of HSEC aspects before carrying out any activity through inspections.
  • Supervise the proper disposal of waste (liquid and solid) generated.
  • To reinforce knowledge, create competence, awareness and training in HSEC management. Actively participate in HSEC trainings, events, and activities scheduled in your area
  • Guarantee the timely response to the attention of requests, complaints and/or claims from the communities that involve their management as required by the Senior Management of Community Relations.
  • Respond in a timely manner to the requirements of the Senior Management of Community Relations for the attention of requests, complaints and/or claims from the communities that involve its management
