Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Under the supervision of the Manager: TSF Construction, the role of the incumbent will be to plan, coordinate and supervise all construction activities of tailings storage facilities (TSF) in a mining environment (copper and cobalt). He/she will ensure that the work is carried out in compliance with safety and quality standards, deadlines and defined budgets. The position involves managing teams and contractors as well as coordinating with technical stakeholders. He/she will monitor the progress of the work and solve problems in the field. Finally, he/she will contribute to the continuous improvement of construction practices.
He/She will have, among others, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive):
- Supervise the construction activities of the TSFs. This includes the planning, organization and management of all works related to dikes, drainage systems, pipelines and associated infrastructure, ensuring their proper execution on the ground.
- Ensure that the work conforms to designs and specifications. This includes verifying the alignment of the work with approved plans, technical and industry standards, as well as quality control of workmanship.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations on the job site. This includes managing day-to-day activities, allocating human and material resources, and optimizing equipment utilization to ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage contractors and field teams. This includes supervising service providers, evaluating their performance, validating work plans and coordinating between the different teams involved.
- Ensure the quality control of the work. This includes supervising inspections, tests and verifications of materials and structures, as well as identifying non-conformities and implementing corrective actions.
- Promote and enforce HSE standards. This includes strictly enforcing health, safety and environmental policies, conducting regular inspections and promoting a safety culture at the site.
- Monitor the progress of the work and deadlines. This includes monitoring schedules, analyzing variances, as well as implementing corrective actions to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Control project costs and budget. This includes tracking expenses, optimizing resources, participating in budget forecasting, and managing cost variations.
- Ensure the reporting of construction activities. This includes the preparation of regular reports on the status, performance, risks and constraints of the project for management.
- Ensure technical coordination with stakeholders. This includes collaborating with engineering, geotechnical and project teams, resolving technical issues and implementing design changes.
