Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the Mining Production Superintendent, the incumbent(s) will operate heavy mining equipment to support mining operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible execution of tasks in line with operational requirements.
Minimum qualification
At least a Brevet d'Aptitude Professionnelle (BAP) or equivalent in heavy equipment operation.
Valid driving licence with relevant categories for heavy mining equipment (Dozer, Grader, Loader, Compactor).
Required Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating heavy mining equipment (Dozer, Grader, Loader, or Compactor) in mining or similar environments.
Required skills
Proven experience in operating heavy mining equipment in open-pit or similar environments.
Strong knowledge of safety standards and operational procedures.
Good understanding of equipment functionality and basic maintenance.
Mastery of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Basic communication skills in French; knowledge of English is an advantage.
Good organizational and reporting skills.
Ability to operate equipment with precision and efficiency under varying site conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Operate assigned mining equipment (Dozer, Grader, Loader, Compactor) safely and efficiently.
Conduct pre-start checks and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
Report any mechanical faults or operational issues to the maintenance team.
Ensure proper handling and use of equipment to avoid damage and downtime.
Comply with site safety procedures and environmental standards.
Participate in waste and pollutant management practices.
Report environmental and safety incidents promptly.
Compliance with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures, as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
