Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Manager: Fixed Plant Reliability, the incumbent is responsible for the design, review and optimization of maintenance strategies master data for KCC Mobile and Fixed Plant assets. He is also responsible to promote the Reliability Mindset Culture, Defect Elimination culture, drive the governance and delivery of loss elimination processes across KCC areas, to improve reliability performance by eliminating or mitigating all equipment failures that adversely affect cost, safety and volume by conducting root cause analysis investigation and initiate improvement projects.
He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
- Demonstrate safety leadership at all times and actively promote awareness of SHEC practices
- Monitor the health of reliability processes and relevance of internal and external standards to identify opportunities to improve performance within the processes as well as opportunities to simplify and improve the processes and standards.
- Govern adherence to the Glencore Process Framework in particular AMF Processes and key focus areas:
- Build, develop and optimise equipment maintenance strategies for all equipment within operations
- Ensure maintenance strategies are practical and effective in the field
- Own all associated task lists, maintenance plans, work instructions and procedures to ensure these are accurately documented and loaded into the relevant systems and correctly linked within the CMMS SAP PM
- Mentor and coach reliability engineers in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and advanced RCA
- Provide technical support to all Maintenance activities and personnel where required and provide input to shutdowns and budget
- Use Defect Elimination methods to identify significant production loss, equipment failure or performance issues and provide continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure risk reviews are performed within the maintenance function, and the critical controls are in place and managed
- Performance equipment strategy reviews and failure analysis to ensure that all task lists and preventative maintenance instructions remain accurate and relevant
- Ensure that all modifications to physical assets are initiated using the Management of Change process.
- Ensure correct master data is maintained in the CMMS SAP PM and processes are in place (and followed) to identify all equipment requiring inspections and repairs based on legislative and statutory requirements. Ensure adherence to these statutory plans in SAP PM
- Drive the development and deployment of critical tasks and statutory maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of Critical Tasks.
- Provide site wide governance of the plant downtime capture and analysis processes to ensure the data is being correctly categorised, analysed and reported.
- Ensure effective processes are in place to monitor PM strategy effectiveness, plant reliability performance and equipment health that highlights improvement opportunities for equipment strategies, operational strategies and plant design.
- Champion the Defect Elimination process to ensure the methods are being effectively used to identify significant production loss, equipment failure or performance issues with appropriate containment and countermeasures identified and appropriately closed out.
- Provide all required reliability budget inputs based on plant risks, threats and vulnerabilities, current maintenance strategies (preventive and corrective), asset life cycle and remaining life analysis.
- Drive the governance of Master Data changes to ensure changes are processed in a timely manner, adequately reviewed, approved or rejected and are in line with the maintenance strategies.
- Mentor and teach peers and colleagues across operational areas to follow the Glencore Process Framework by promoting operating discipline and good reliability processes.
- Reinforce the culture to move from preventive maintenance to proactive (Condition Based Maintenance) maintenance
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years in reliability leadership (Mining/Heavy Industry) or relevant superintendent experience.
- Proven track record in Reliability Centered Maintenance Implementation, lifecycle cost optimization, Root Cause Analysis Facilitation, frontline Management.
- Exposure to maintenance operations in a mineral processing environment.
