Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Job Description

 

The position holder will be responsible for verifying the compliance of copper with required standards and specifications at every stage of the process (production, storage, shipment). He/she will carry out inspections and analyses, identify discrepancies, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

 

He/she will also contribute to product traceability, resolution of non-conformities, and continuous improvement of quality processes.

 

His/her responsibilities will include (non-exhaustive list):

 

 

1. Quality Control of Available Stock

  • Ensure the quality of received products.
  • Ensure that stock is stored in appropriate areas.
  • Ensure compliance with the specifications of received products.
  • Ensure that all packages are sealed.
  • Ensure that processing time at the single window (one-stop service) is reasonable.

 

2. Compliance with Environmental Standards

  • Monitor the repackaging of all damaged packages.
  • Ensure that storage complies with the height specified in the environmental declaration.
  • Return the file processed by KCC to the transporter.

 

3. Quality Management of Copper Batch Loading

  • Ensure that only packages listed on the Loading Declaration are loaded onto the truck.
  • Ensure that truck loading complies with Glencore recommendations.
  • Take photos of packages loaded onto trucks.
  • Prepare and send a photographic report of loaded batches.

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

  • Have at least a university degree or equivalent.
  • Have minimum three (3) years of experience in export logistics, ideally in the mining industry.

 

Technical Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of truck loading operations.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for several hours.
  • Ability to count, read, and write.
  • Ability to work both day and night depending on operational urgency levels.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is a strong asset.
