Purpose and objective

This Planning Analyst position exists to provide entry-level support to the Business Analysis and Planning team and to the Non-Operated Join Ventures team, assisting in the collection and organization of financial and operational data while gaining practical experience in financial insights and improvement initiatives across the region. The role offers hands-on learning opportunities to develop foundational skills in data analysis and reporting, contributing to enhanced decision-making at site and regional levels.

Being part of a regional team exposes the Planning Analyst to diverse assets and joint ventures, fostering a broad understanding of the business from the ground up. This exposure adds value by enabling the Analyst to contribute fresh perspectives and support the identification of common challenges and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience for the role

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mining or related | Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration | Certified Public Accountant | Industrial Engineering (recent graduate preferred)
  2. Demonstrated intermediate oral and written English and Spanish language proficiency.
  3. Preferably 0–1 year of relevant experience, such as internships in Finance, Cost Planning, or Business Improvement.
  4. Basic analytical skills with the ability to learn and interpret financial and operational data.
  5. Good communication skills, with potential to translate findings into simple insights.
  6. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate functions, e.g., formulas, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, and data organization), and PowerPoint (preparation of clear and professional presentations).
  7. Knowledge of Power BI is desirable (e.g., basic understanding of dashboards, data visualization, or prior exposure through courses/projects).
  8. Eager, proactive learner with a strong commitment to personal development and growth.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Assist in the collection and organization of operational and financial data under guidance. Support basic data entry and initial trend identification for team reviews.
  2. Help prepare basic internal reports, financial forecasts, and budget tracking documents with supervision.
  3. Support senior team members in gathering data for business improvement projects and simple financial models.
  4. Assist in the maintenance of financial tools, such as dashboards and templates, with direction.
  5. Help monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across assets and joint ventures, providing basic updates.
  6. Assist in preparing presentation materials for internal use.
  7. Support improvements in reporting processes and data consistency under guidance.
